Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures, abnormal operation, vibration, seal and bearing issues, and performance degradation in an operating plant environment.
  • Lead and participate in root cause failure investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Partner closely with operations, maintenance, and reliability teams to improve equipment uptime, availability, and safety.
  • Review and approve rotating equipment repair recommendations and vendor proposals.
  • Provide technical input to Management of Change (MOC) processes for equipment modifications and operating condition changes.
  • Ensure rotating equipment complies with company standards and applicable codes (API, ASME, ANSI).
  • Identify and implement reliability and cost-reduction improvements, including bad-actor elimination and standardization efforts.
  • Lead predictive and preventive maintenance programs, including condition monitoring techniques such as vibration analysis, oil analysis, and ultrasonic inspections.
  • Relocation available. $130K-$140K.
Requirements
  • The Rotating Equipment Engineer will have 7+ years of hands-on experience supporting rotating equipment in chemical manufacturing, petrochemical, refining, or related process plants.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose equipment issues using field observations, operating data, and maintenance history.
  • Familiarity with vibration analysis, oil analysis, and other condition monitoring techniques.
  • Familiarity with machinery auxiliary systems such as lube oil, seal oil, hydraulics, monitoring, control, and protective systems.
  • Experience with reliability engineering tools and techniques, such as root cause failure analysis (RCFA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM).
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • Working knowledge of API / ANSI standards and plant maintenance practices.
  • Proficiency in using software tools like Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS systems.
  • Advanced data analysis skills is an asset.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the US without sponsorship. TN1 visa candidates will be considered.
