Mead & Hunt is looking for a roadway design leader for their well-established Raleigh office. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to step into a leadership role with the career potential to grow a group and bring together a ‘dream team.’ This role provides a tremendous amount of job security and stability through the team’s proven ability to win high-profile, competitive projects and strong backlog, both locally with NCDOT and companywide with a diverse mix of clients across many market sectors. This engineer will serve as the local roadway leader, overseeing the hiring of staff to help manage and support local work, supervising the technical development and delivery of projects, mentoring junior staff members, working with clients, and supporting the team’s successful completion of projects.
The Raleigh office has an extensive NCDOT portfolio including a number of key roadway design projects. The group regularly pursues and wins some of the most complex and interesting projects in North Carolina. The team has recently completed design for interchange improvements at I-85 and I-485 on the west side of Charlotte and is also working on design of grade separations for a major section of the Raleigh to Richmond rail project. The majority of projects are located in North Carolina and minimal travel is required for this position.

Requirements:
• BS in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering or related engineering discipline preferred
• Licensed Professional Engineer preferred
• 10+ years of experience
• Roadway design experience required
• Experience working on DOT projects
