Risk Manager/Estimator - Major Transit Facility Project

We are seeking an experienced Risk Manager/Estimator to join our team for a significant transit infrastructure project in Ontario. This 3-year greenfield project involves the construction of a state-of-the-art maintenance and storage facility, including potential geothermal systems and EV battery storage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the estimating process for this large-scale construction management project.
• Experience with construction management, design-build and stip sum delivery models is ideal
• Assemble accurate, timely, and well-organized estimates for the various project scopes
• Coordinate with sub-contractors, analyze quotes, and assist in the buy-out process
• Monitor project costs and identify potential challenges throughout the construction phase
• Maintain and update databases for labour rates, material pricing, and project costs
• Collaborate with project managers and site superintendents to manage risk and cost control
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior estimating staff

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• 8-10 years of estimating experience in Commercial/ICI General Contracting, with projects up to $80M in value
• Advanced knowledge of estimating strategies, techniques, and construction contracts
• Experience with various delivery models including Design-Build, Construction Management, and Stipulated Sum contracts
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• Experience with transit facilities or sustainable building practices is an asset

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with geothermal systems and EV technology
• Experience with public sector projects
