Job Description:
We are currently seeking a driven, detail oriented, and customer focused individual to fill our new Credit Risk Management position. In addition to being part of a team with a true entrepreneurial spirit and limitless room for growth

What you will achieve in this role:

• RRSP matching program
• Preparation of Loan Summaries and Commitment Letters to learn the credit underwriting process at CSMC • Exposure to non-performing loans to learn the enforcement process, including communicating with third-parties such as Solicitors, Investors, Appraisers, and Listing Agents
• Analyzing Term Sheets for new loans and discussing the analysis with the senior credit team at CSMC
• Reviewing Loan Summaries for new loans and working with underwriters to ensure that the Loan Summaries are properly completed to the standards of CSMC and its Investors
• Assisting the Funding Department with any credit-related concerns for loans in the portfolio
• Participate in Internal Credit Committee for the adjudication of Term Sheets
• Submit and discuss Loan Summaries with Investors, including following up with underwriters to answer any questions or concerns Key Accountabilities
• Meeting deadlines and milestones as it relates to the progressive training program as set by the Associate Director
• Assisting with the implementation of policies and procedures for the credit team at CSMC
•Progressively being assigned reporting duties both to internal and external parties
• Meeting regularly with the Associate Director to assess progress and refine program
• Self-driven exposure to loans in the CSMC portfolio to understand the existing loan book and Borrowers
• Assisting with the training and ongoing improvement of the credit team and assisting with the structuring of new deals with the sales team as required Minimum Qualifications • Post-secondary Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, or Finance with an educational focus on Real Estate or Land Development, or equivalent (required)

What you must bring to this role:
• 3–5 years of related work experience in the real estate lending industry with progressive responsibilities related to credit underwriting and adjudication (required)
• Exposure to A/B Structure loans (recommended)
• Experience with managing direct reports would be an asset, but not a requirement
• Superior communication skills (written and verbal) and acute attention to detail; must be able to review credit applications and agreements to ensure minimal errors or omissions
• Superior reading comprehension to be able to quickly review data and draw a conclusion
• Expertise in the use of Word, Excel, Office, and PowerPoint
• Able to apply analytical and critical thinking skills under pressure and prioritize work load
• Keen sense of organization, planning, and prioritizing: Uses structured work methods, establishes priorities, sets deadlines, and manages time effectively
• Must have a strong customer focus
