Position Overview:
Our client, a well-established retirement plan consulting and administration firm, is seeking a Retirement Analyst to join its growing team. This role involves managing a defined contribution book of business while performing full-cycle administration and compliance functions.
The ideal candidate will bring at least 2+ years of A–Z retirement plan administration experience within a TPA environment and be comfortable working independently with minimal supervision. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle administration for a defined contribution book of business.
- Gather and analyze census data to determine eligibility and calculate contributions.
- Perform compliance testing and identify discrepancies.
- Reconcile trust assets to participant accounts across multiple investment platforms.
- Prepare required government reporting forms, schedules, notices, disclosures, and participant statements.
- Process distributions, loans, and hardship withdrawals.
- Review and interpret plan document provisions to ensure accurate plan administration.
- Respond directly to client and advisor inquiries.
- Support client onboarding and ongoing servicing.
- Mentor junior analysts and provide technical guidance as needed.
- Assist in process improvement initiatives and workflow enhancements.
- Stay current on ERISA regulations and legislative updates.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 2+ years of A–Z retirement plan administration experience, preferably in a TPA environment.
- Experience managing own book of business with minimal supervision.
- Experience with ftWilliams software helpful but not required.
- Degree preferred; ASPPA designation or pursuit of credential preferred.
- Understanding of ERISA and Internal Revenue Code requirements.
- Ability to interpret plan documents and legal provisions.
- Strong data analysis and mathematical calculation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously.
