Our Client is recruiting for a Retail Sales Representative to be based at their Head Office in Morningside, Sandton. However he/she will be required to be on the road 80% of the time. They have recently launched their own line of Frozen Pizza which has been a great success. As the business expands, they are looking for Retail Sales Representatives to join their team.

Job Purpose:

The Retail Sales Representatives will be responsible for overseeing all retail outlets and will be required to visit each retail outlet once a week. The successful incumbents’ goal is to acquire new business and manage all existing retailers while analysing sales trends and reporting.

  • Retail Store visits includes all respective Chain Stores and other retail outlets
  • Ensure stock is displayed correctly and always priced correctly, well stocked, ensure merchandising is always top notch
  • Display promotional material (if permitted)
  • Check and record batch dates (expiry dates)
  • Record any damaged stock
  • Place orders on behalf of the customer (Retailer owner or manager), if they have not done so already
  • Answer customers (Retailer owner or manager) queries about the product and USPs
  • Assist customers (Retailer owner or manager) with purchase decisions and stock relevant to sales history and customer behavior
  • Retrieves stock from sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations (if permitted)
  • Places special orders like, discounts or promotional stock according to negotiations and approval from Management
  • Collection of outstanding payments if necessary. Especially in the case of small/independent retailers
  • Prepare and send Weekly Frozen Pizza Sales Report
  • Prepare and send Monthly Sales Summary at the end of each month
  • Actively grow sales and B2B customer database
  • Assist marketing and customer with diarising and booking activations and promotions at stores
  • Attend and assist with the setup of store activations on Friday afternoons and/or Saturday mornings
  • Liaise and report to Marketing and Management teams
  • Strong ability to cold call and pursue new business
  • Eager to learn and add value to a growing business
  • Ability to be on the road 80% of the time (located in Gauteng)
  • Strong administration and reporting skills
  • Experience in retail (such as Spar, PnP, President Hyper, Checkers) with merchandising and marketing knowledge
  • Customer focused and willing to assist the retailer in any way possible to ensure our product in on their shelves
Salary: Market related (negotiable based on the level of experience)

Working hours: 08:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday (with availability required over weekends for activations etc.)

Location: Based at the Head Office in Morningside, Sandton - Ability to be on the road 80% of the time
