Job Description
Our client is a vertically integrated, premium grass-fed beef company seeking a high-performing Retail Sales Leader to drive expansion across regional and independent retail chains.
This is not a commodity beef role.
This is an opportunity to scale a differentiated, high-attribute protein program built on proprietary genetics, controlled supply, and a fully integrated production model.
With meaningful unused capacity in grind and value-added production, the organization is entering its next growth phase and this individual will play a critical role in the next phase. This role will focus on opening doors, securing distribution, and building sustainable volume in margin-rich ground and value-added programs.
This organization controls its supply chain from ranch partnerships through processing, grinding, and branded retail execution.
The company is intentionally prioritizing:
• Expansion of grass-fed, grass-finished ground beef
• Growth in value-added protein items
• Increased penetration within natural and regional retail chains
• East Coast market expansion
Target accounts include regional and specialty chains similar to:
• H-E-B
• Hy-Vee
• Kowalski’s Markets
• Nugget Markets
• Raley’s
• Harris Teeter
What You’ll Own:
• New retail account acquisition
• Strategic distributor partnership management
• Expansion of brick and tray-pack retail programs
• Buyer presentations, product demos, and promotional execution
• Margin-focused selling aligned with premium positioning
What Success Looks Like:
• Meaningful increase in ground beef throughput within 12–24 months
• Multiple new regional retail accounts secured
• Expanded East Coast footprint
• Strong mix of grind and value-added placements
Who You Are:
• A seasoned protein sales professional who has successfully sold premium or high-attribute protein programs
• Understands natural, specialty, and regional retail channels
• Is comfortable selling value over commodity pricing
• Thrives in entrepreneurial, growth-focused environments
Our client offers performance-oriented structure including:
• A competitive base salary
• Commission based on volume and margin performance
• High performers have achieved $250K–$300K+ total compensation
Candidates from strictly commodity packer backgrounds may find this model challenging. Scrappy retail hunters who know how to build premium programs will excel.
