Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications in accordance with state and federal regulations
  • Counsel patients regarding medications, side effects, drug interactions, and treatment plans
  • Review prescriptions for appropriateness, safety, and effectiveness
  • Monitor and evaluate patient-specific drug therapy outcomes
  • Serve as a trusted medication resource for patients, caregivers, physicians, and clinical staff
  • Oversee pharmacy technicians and support daily pharmacy operations
  • Maintain accurate medication records and inventory controls
  • Promote medication safety and regulatory compliance
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient care programs
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support optimal patient outcomes

Qualifications

Required

  • Active Oregon Pharmacist license or eligibility for Oregon licensure through reciprocity
  • Minimum three (3) years of retail pharmacy experience
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacology, medication management, and pharmacy operations
  • Excellent communication and patient counseling skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • BLS certification within 60 days of hire

Preferred

  • Hospital-affiliated retail pharmacy experience
  • Community health or integrated healthcare experience
  • Board of Pharmacy Licensed Preceptor designation
  • Immunization certification or willingness to obtain within 18 months
  • Previous inpatient or hospital pharmacy experience
