Salary: $24.00 - $36.00 per hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Measure lung capacity and analyze blood samples using a blood gas analyzer.
- Perform tobacco cessation education, bedside Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs), EKGs, and other diagnostics as ordered by healthcare providers.
- Deliver prescribed respiratory therapy and assess responses to treatment, adjusting care plans accordingly.
- Participate in code blue situations and provide emergent assistance as needed.
- Educate patients and their families on conditions, treatments, and available community resources.
- Maintain and manage respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders, ensuring optimal inventory levels and equipment operation.
- Disassemble, clean, and sterilize equipment, and perform preventive maintenance and calibration of respiratory therapy machines.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Active Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care License.
- Graduate of an accredited CRT or RRT Program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 60 days of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 60 days of hire.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in an acute care hospital setting.
- Experience with patient education and health promotion.
- Strong communication and interprofessional collaboration skills.
- Ability to respond effectively under pressure in emergency situations.
- Familiarity with respiratory care protocols, procedures, and best practices.
