Service/Installation Engineer, Resident Site Service Engineer - Honda

PURPOSE AND DESCRIPTION:

The purpose of the Resident Site Service Engineer is to be the primary contact for providing on-site repair, troubleshooting, programming, informal training or maintenance services for robots and related system peripheral equipment. The RSSE works at the customer facility frequently to be very familiar with their robots, systems, process, personnel and servicing expectations.

The RSSE will be located in close proximity to the Honda Marysville Assembly Plant in Marysville OH to reduce the response time to repair. The RSSE must be able to travel to a customer site on a moments notice and remain on-site for the duration of time required to perform the troubleshooting and repair functions. Assignments may involve long hours, night, weekend and holiday work. Air travel is rarely required. This RSSE will be responsible for supporting all of the Honda facilities in the Ohio region including their suppliers. The RSSE will also be responsible for support at the Honda Alabama facility on an as needed basis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
 Ability to discuss, diagnosis & repair robot operational and process problems as reported by the customer or Hotline.
 Ability to provide Technical phone support through the Technical Support Hotline from their home office.
 Troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of robot controllers, electrical control devices, mechanical units, transfer devices and peripheral equipment
 Participate in the integration and/or installation of robots and related peripheral equipment at Honda in order to fully understand its operation, performance requirements, and troubleshooting procedures.
 Documenting robot and related peripheral equipment performance, failure modes and reporting results for the purpose of troubleshooting, repairing, and restarting the system
 Weekly activity report and Action Item list update
 Completion of a Field Service report for repair work
 Maintenance of a service tool kit and documentation to facilitate rapid customer response
 Storage and maintenance of a service stock of parts commonly used on robot repair calls
 Perform warranty service on robot or system components provided by robotics OEM
 Coordinate responsibilities, activities, and schedule with Service Supervisor to insure customer satisfaction, proper billing, and collections
 Communicate frequently with involved company employees and customer employees to insure that expectations are being met
 Return of parts shipped for the service call but not purchased by the customer or defective parts replaced under warranty
 Maintenance of a home office for coordinating activities in between service calls
