The Research Manager leads day-to-day execution of a multi-year CDC evaluation. The manager is responsible for operationalizing the approved evaluation strategy into structured, executable workplans that ensure timely, high-quality delivery of all CRC
CP evaluation activities. This role serves as the central coordination hub across analytic staff, subcontractors, evaluation sites, and CDC stakeholders, translating technical direction into execution.
The Research Manager has delegated authority for day-to-day task execution and delivery management and maintains accountability for schedules, task sequencing, reporting workflows, and internal controls. This role is critical to sustaining execution discipline, transparency, and communication across the evaluation lifecycle. This role is not an administrative support or scheduling-only position. Successful candidates will be comfortable managing technical workstreams, coordinating analytic staff, and operating in a federal research environment with complex reporting and compliance requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Translating approved evaluation designs into task-level execution plans
· Managing data collection workflows (surveying, qualitative collection, site coordination)
· Tracking deliverables against SOW and reporting schedules
· Identifying execution risks and elevating them with proposed mitigation strategies
· Supporting OMB clearance prep, data management planning, and dissemination timelines
· Coordinating inputs for peer-reviewed manuscripts and technical reports
· Maintaining integrated project schedules and task trackers.
· Coordinating task execution across economists, data scientists, and researchers.
· Preparing monthly progress reports and documentation.
· Scheduling and documenting meetings, action items, and follow-ups.
· Monitoring subcontractor deliverables and timelines.
Education and Experience
Required:
• Master’s degree in public health, health services research, social science, economics, or related field
• Minimum five (5) years supporting or managing applied research, evaluation, or analytics projects
• Strong written communication and organizational skills
Preferred:
· Experience supporting federal or federally funded evaluations
· Experience coordinating multi-site or multi-partner data collection
· Familiarity with CDC, HHS, or similar federal environments
