Renewal Underwriter

DESCRIPTION

The commercial renewal underwriter plays a pivotal role in retaining commercial insurance accounts and maintaining stable premium volume. The position will provide an insurance professional with an opportunity to grow their career in an employee focused environment.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Providing exceptional customer service to retail agency business partners
• Must be passionate about reaching daily task goals
• Provide feedback and solutions on creating better processes
• Diligently check endorsements and other policy documents for accuracy
• Must be a team player
• Quote renewals with efficiency and accuracy based on market availability and according to department service standards and company compliance, while assisting in writing minimum of set goal in new business annually
• Manage renewals 30 days prior to policy expiration adhering to the renewal service standard guidelines and maintaining minimum renewal retention of 85%
• Handle contract binding renewals less than $5,000 in premium
• Providing accurate and timely reporting of all renewal activity

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• 1+ years of Commercial Property & Casualty underwriting experience preferred
• Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the Commercial Property and Casualty insurance industry
• Bachelor's Degree in Insurance and Risk Management or related field preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products to include Word, Excel, and Outlook with ability to adapt quickly to new software applications and Carrier systems.
• Sharp attention to detail and organizational skills
• Effective communication, interpersonal and influencing skills needed
