Remote Federal Estimator

We’re working with a small federal contractor that is tied to a strong pipeline of funded work already in place and offers a lot of autonomy in how the role is run.

They’re looking to add someone on the preconstruction / estimating side, with a strong focus on actually building and assembling federal proposals.

This is not a sole estimating role.

This is a role for someone who enjoys the front end of the work, being involved in pursuits, proposals, specifically pulling together RFP responses and getting them across the finish line, not just pricing in isolation.

It’s a smaller group where you’re directly involved in the work and have visibility into what’s coming next.

What stands out:

• Remote setup, not tied to an office

• Strong pipeline of NAVFAC/USACE federal pursuits already in motion

• Consistent backlog, not chasing projects

• Small team, no layers, no micromanagement

• Direct involvement in pursuits, not just estimating in a silo

What you’d be doing:

• Supporting preconstruction and estimating tied directly to active pursuits

• Helping coordinate and move pursuits forward from early stages through submission

• Developing scopes and coordinating with subcontractors and design teams

• Reviewing pricing and helping build overall estimates

• Assisting with the technical side of proposals and pursuit strategy and ensuring compliance with RFP requirements

• Working across multiple pursuits at different stages

What they’re looking for:

• Must have experience in federal construction (USACE, NAVFAC, DoD, etc.)

• Background in preconstruction and/or estimating

Direct exposure leading and assembling proposal responses from RFP through submission

Hands-on experience actually building/writing/assembling proposals (not just supporting)

• Ability to work independently in a remote environment

• Someone who enjoys the front end of the work, not just execution

This tends to resonate with people who enjoy flexibility and the pursuit side of the business and want to be more involved in winning work, not just delivering it.

If that sounds like you, or someone you know, reach out directly.
