About The Bank:

This is a fast-growing, Houston-based community bank dedicated to serving local businesses with personalized service, quick decision-making, and deep community roots. As they continue to expand across the Greater Houston area, they are seeking an experienced Commercial Relationship Manager to join their team and play a key role in driving growth through strong loan and deposit relationship development.

Position Overview:

The Commercial Relationship Manager will be responsible for originating and managing a portfolio of high-quality commercial relationships, including both Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) loans, while actively growing deposit relationships as well. The ideal candidate is a true relationship community banker; highly engaged in the Houston business community, driven by local relationships, and skilled at delivering customized financial solutions to commercial clients.

This individual will play a critical role in the bank’s growth strategy by identifying, developing, and maintaining profitable business relationships across the Houston market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and grow a portfolio of commercial clients within the Houston area, focusing on both loan and deposit growth.
  • Source, structure, and close new CRE and/or C&I loans.
  • Proactively identify new business opportunities through networking, community involvement, and client referrals.
  • Deliver an exceptional client experience through ongoing relationship management, financial insight, and tailored banking solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal credit, operations, and treasury teams to ensure smooth onboarding and portfolio management.
  • Maintain a strong presence in the local business community through active participation in professional and civic organizations.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial banking with a focus on relationship management.
  • Proven track record of originating and managing CRE and/or C&I relationships.
  • Demonstrated success in deposit growth and business development.
  • Formal credit training or strong credit underwriting background preferred.
  • Strong understanding of commercial banking products and services.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Deep ties to the Houston business community and a passion for community banking.
