Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Job Description
We’re partnering with a well-established, privately held food and beverage manufacturer to help them find a Regulatory Compliance Specialist. The company produces a variety of drink and beverage mixes, sauces, and concentrates for major national brands and restaurant chains.
Position Summary: This position will support R&D, QA, and Procurement teams. The ideal candidate will focus on standards and guidelines set by the FDA with emphasis on food labeling to create and verify ingredient statements and nutritional panels based on supplier documentation
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical support for R&D, Quality Assurance and Procurement
- Format and create regulatory documents.
- Oversee the implementation of new and revised package labels.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of FDA regulations and other relevant regulations.
- Review, maintain and update documentation from suppliers.
- Manage the investigation and reporting of Regulatory Compliance issues. Recognize trends and opportunities for improvement/corrective action through proper analysis.
- Coordinate and execute internal, external, customer, supplier, and regulatory audits as directed or required.
- Assist in creating nutritional panels and ingredient statements for finished goods.
- And any other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Required Skills/ Abilities:
- Must have excellent time management, attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills, listening, decision-making, and organization skills required.
- Excellent computer skills required.
- Experience creating nutritional panels and ingredient statements.
- Working knowledge of FDA 21 CFR part 101 Food Labeling, Federal and State Food Regulations with the ability to train others in their understanding of the regulations.
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, major in a Science field (i.e. Food, Chemistry, Biology)
- A minimum of two years of experience in supervision and experience in regulatory compliance is required.
