Regulatory Analyst / Sr. Regulatory Analyst

Hybrid or On-site (Topeka, KS or Kansas City, MO)

Our client – a leading electric utility serving Kansas and Missouri – is seeking a talented Regulatory Analyst to join their Regulatory Affairs team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring compliance with federal and state utility regulations and supports key filings and analysis to help the company deliver reliable, affordable power to its customers.

What you’ll do:

• Prepare and support FERC formula rate filings and revenue requirement calculations
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory agencies including FERC, SPP, MPSC, and KCC
• Perform detailed revenue and cost analysis, rate design, and tariff interpretation
• Assist with the preparation of testimony and responses to audits
• Collaborate across departments to support wholesale pricing strategies and filings
• Utilize and support regulatory software including Wdesk and assist with quarterly and annual reporting (e.g. FERC Form 1/3-Q)
• Participate in dockets, rulemakings, and reporting as assigned

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field (advanced degree preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Knowledge of energy markets, electric utility systems, and FERC policies a plus
• For senior levels, professional certification (CPA, PE, etc.) and 4+ years in regulated utility industry preferred
