Our client is located in Joplin, Missouri, on the historic Route 66. Joplin is a special place in the middle of the beautiful Ozark Mountains. There are beautiful parks to explore and colorful buildings in the historic downtown area. There are several museums to visit, as well as an amazing food scene to explore and taste! Joplin is a very welcoming town for residents and visitors alike!
Practice Overview
Our client is a full-service companion animal practice that offers a spacious and well-equipped facility dedicated to the well-being of their clients. It is AAHA Accredited and stands as a beacon of gold-standard medicine, dedicated to providing top-notch care for pets. Beyond routine check-ups, this practice offers comprehensive emergency care, ensuring patients receive immediate attention when needed. What sets our client apart is its holistic approach, integrating alternative medicine modalities such as acupuncture and underwater rehab treadmill sessions alongside traditional treatments. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including an in-house lab, a cutting-edge surgery suite, and a radiology room boasting digital X-Ray and ultrasound capabilities, they leave no stone unturned in diagnosing and treating ailments.
What You’ll Be Working On
- Build and maintain lasting client relationships
- Assist in treating and managing a variety of small animal cases
- Maintain a high level of client communication and patient care
- Maintain a positive work environment and promote teamwork
- Perform general practice and patient intake
- Assist the veterinarian in medical, surgical, and dental procedures
- Take diagnostic radiographs
- Provide compassionate specialized nursing care
- Take vital signs, draw blood, and gather medical history
- Must be able to take full-mouth dental radiographs
- Calculate and administer drug, medication, and fluid doses as directed by a veterinarian
- Skilled venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
- Must be trained in dental scaling and charting
- Properly care for and maintain the operating room, surgical materials, and inventory of medical supplies
- Perform laboratory tests to assist in diagnosis and treatment
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience
- Must be registered in the state of Missouri
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous education and growth
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt and be flexible
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Team player who loves to build relationships with clients and internal team
- Ability to perform duties of a veterinary technician
- Experience in surgery, hospitalizations, record keeping, and estimates
