They have an immediate opening for multiple RRT Registered Respiratory Therapists for the system.
In Respiratory, they currently have 3 openings, which are 36 hours / week, working 12 hour shifts: 7 am-7 pm and 7 pm-7 am, and every other weekend. Viable candidates must be Registered Respiratory Therapists through the ND Board of Respiratory Care.
The hospital RRT’s are part of the Trauma Team, Code Blue Team, and Rapid Response Team. They attend all C-sections and high-risk deliveries, and are a part of the neonatal transport team.
The RRT’s provide 24 / 7 service to all acute care areas of the hospital, including ICU, SCCU and NICU, where patients receive mechanical ventilation and arterial blood gases.
The RRTs work in conjunction with our pulmonologists and utilize therapist-driven protocols. The NICU has two staff neonatologists. Our RT Department has adult ventilators (Puritan Bennett 840 / 980) infant ventilators (Avea), and V 60 BiPAP machines.
They are staffed to ensure that therapists are able to spend an adequate amount of time with patients and their family members and provide excellent customer service.
The Respiratory Therapist performs and documents evaluation and patient assessment; provides diagnostic and therapeutic treatment and physician assistance; provides appropriate patient education, family teaching and support; identifies significant changes in patient's condition; completes all documentation; disassembles, cleans and assembles Respiratory Care equipment and performs preventive maintenance, and processes patient charges. Patients cared for include those in the following age groups: infant, children, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
Required:
- Licensed by the North Dakota State Board of Respiratory Care.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist Credential prior to start date.
