Registered Nurse- Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Responsibilities of the RN - Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit

• Provides general nursing care to patients in Intensive Care Unit
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques
• Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatments and examinations of patients
• Observes patient, record significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient’s condition and reaction to drugs, treatments and significant incidents
• Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition to patient


Education

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
• Current and Valid RN license
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• BSN strongly preferred


Certifications

• BLS Required
• ACLS Required
• PALS Required

Experience


• 2 years’ current experience working in acute care hospital
• 1 year experience working in an Intensive Care Unit unit
• Ability to administer all proper clinical care of patient
• Ability to maintain accurate medical record transcriptions
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Problem solving skill set
• Works collaboratively with healthcare professionals for quality patient care
