Registered Nurse - Obstetrics (OB)
The Obstetrics Room Nurse performs nursing patient care duties for the assigned unit or department. The OR Nurse plans, provides, and evaluates total nursing care in accordance with the established patient care philosophy. The OB RN facilitates individualized, goal-directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures. The Obstetrics RN relates effectively with other shifts for continuity of care, maintains satisfactory relations with other departments and nursing units; and participates in all phases of education. The OB Nurse provides the best possible nursing care through planning, organizing, and facilitating the nursing function for assigned patients. The OB Nurse initiates and implements patient care plans. The Nurse administers medications and intravenous solutions correctly. The Obstetrics Nurse maintains and facilitates the standards of accurate and complete documentation and reporting; keeps the Charge Nurse or designated House Supervisor informed of patient needs and/or problems affecting either the patient or unit.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- 24 months of recent nursing experience within the past five years
- 2 years Obstetrics experience
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nevada
- BLS certification required and ACLS may be required
