Registered Nurse - Med Surg

Salary: $30.00 - $49.00 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide general nursing care to patients in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Utilize AIDET methodology for communication with patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and update electronic medical records in real-time.
  • Monitor and document patient conditions, notify providers and supervisory staff of changes.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to approved nursing techniques.
  • Educate patients and families, documenting all instructional activities in patient files.
  • Perform regular checks on patients, updating care plans based on assessments.
  • Collaborate with other nursing and ancillary staff to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Current RN License in the state of Kansas.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • At least six (6) months to one (1) year of related experience in Med Surg or a similar setting.
  • Proven ability to document patient care effectively within an electronic medical recording system.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality care that aligns with the goals of the healthcare facility.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is highly advantageous.
  • Previous experience in telemetry and monitoring patient lab test results.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in acute care or small hospital settings.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
