Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Salary: $42.00 - $49.00 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan and evaluate patient care.
  • Implement clinical and therapeutic interventions according to established protocol for emergency patient care.
  • Maintain communication and advocate for patient needs within the healthcare system to assure high-quality care.
  • Provide direct nursing care based on the assessments, including administering medications and monitoring patient responses.
  • Participate actively in Quality Improvement programs to help enhance the standards of care and services provided.
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy during their stay in accordance with institutional standards.
  • Monitor and document patient status and treatment progress regularly and effectively for handover and historical records.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas, or eligible for immediate licensure.
  • At least 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department.
  • Required certifications in Basic Life Support within 30 days and Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of employment.
  • Proven ability to operate under high stress situations typical of emergency rooms.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support is an advantage.
  • Experience in mentoring or training newly hired staff.
