Job Title: Western North Dakota Regional Vice President

As a key member of our client company's senior leadership team, the Regional Vice President will lead the Western North Dakota region. In this high-impact role, you’ll drive business operations, mentor teams, and foster strong relationships with clients and communities across the region. You’ll directly supervise Office Managers and lead Client Managers, providing clear direction, mentorship, and performance evaluations. In partnership with the Executive Team, you’ll play a key role in attracting, developing, and retaining top talent, empowering leaders within the region and guiding strategic staffing decisions. This role helps bring strategic vision to life at the regional level, aligning performance with company-wide goals while supporting a culture of growth and excellence. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the Regional Implementation Plan and annual budget, incorporating recommendations from Market Sector Leaders to achieve regional sales, revenue, and profit targets.
• Communicate the firm's mission, objectives, and Strategic Plan to regional staff, ensuring alignment with firm-wide goals and fostering a high-trust, collaborative culture.
• Oversee all operational aspects of offices within the region, delegating daily management to Office Managers while providing strategic guidance and performance evaluations.
• Lead Client Managers in coordination with Market Sector Leaders to develop regional strategies, execute Market Sector Plans, and pursue new client opportunities.
• Provide the final go-no-go on proposals weighing long-term strategy with firm resources to serve clients well.
• Review client agreements above $50,000 (when no Market Sector Leader is assigned) and assign project numbers, ensuring alignment with regional and firm-wide objectives.
• Collaborate with Office Managers and Client Managers to offer support and advise the team.
• Work with the CGO and Marketing Director to promote regional projects and client successes through targeted campaigns, award submissions, and conference presentations.
• Support Senior Funding Specialists by providing strategic input for grant/loan applications, aligning funding pursuits with regional project goals.
• Coordinate with corporate staff to implement firm-wide policies and administrative initiatives, explaining their rationale to regional teams and ensuring compliance.
• Assist Client Managers in developing their client bases, fostering strong relationships, and enhancing business development efforts.
• Conduct performance assessments for Client Managers, with hiring and termination decisions subject to Executive Team approval, ensuring alignment with firm standards.
• Collaborate with the Director of Human Resources to support regional staffing decisions, training programs, and succession planning, promoting career growth for staff.
• Participate in professional development to enhance strategic leadership and business development skills, preparing to mentor emerging leaders and contribute to firm-wide initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Land Surveying, Planning, Landscape Architecture, Business Administration, or related field.
• 12–15 years of progressive experience in operations, business development, or engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Extensive knowledge of civil engineering operations or adjacent professions, client relationship management, and strategic planning.
• Advanced proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Deltek) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic decision-making skills, with proven ability to manage diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Experience in a professional services or engineering firm, with a focus on regional operations and market development.
• Valid driver's license for travel to project sites, office locations, and client meetings across the region.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in an office environment utilizing computer equipment and software.
• May require frequent travel to project sites, client meetings, or office locations across multiple locations, which involve walking, climbing stairs, and navigating uneven terrain.
• Capable of lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 25 pounds (e.g., project plans, presentation materials).
• Comfortable working in various weather conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, rain, and other environmental factors during site visits.
• Adequate vision and hearing abilities to effectively assess project sites, read and interpret documents, and communicate with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites or meetings as necessary.
