Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Vice President of one of leading asset-based logistics providers offering full transportation services (LTL, FTL, Specialized, and Expedited).

Regional VP of Sales will be responsible for developing and maintaining a book of business by identifying sales opportunities, cold-calling, closing the sale, and building long lasting customer relationships in a competitive, fast-paced industry. Will conduct lead generation activities for new and existing business, including cold calling, networking, and other opportunity prospecting methods. Will be responsible for the closing and development of profitable new business and coordinating with Account Management team to implement the customer’s solution and onboarding.
As a senior level commercial representation of RJ Logistics, this position is responsible for contacting high-profile, prospective customers and selling cross divisional solutions to the prospective clients; the nature of accounts tend to be cross-divisional and high velocity. This position focuses on onboarding new clients, establishing a long-term strategy for customer success, aligning internal teams to execute that strategy, and transferring the customer to account management for continuous business development. Will engage with customers post-sale via account reviews and quarterly meetings to prove ROI, create new value, and educate/train client teams. Will also work with Pricing Analysts, and Operations team to create business solutions and long-term business relationships with perspective new customers. Challenge is to expand account base, increase revenues, and improve profitability.

Background Required:
  • Sales and business development in 3PL environment (6+ years)
  • Built a book of business that generated $6MM in gross annual revenues
  • Service offering (i.e. Truckload, LTL, Dry Van, Reefer, Intermodal, Warehousing, Enterprise, International)
  • Regional and National accounts experience
  • Strong Selling and closing capabilities
  • Experience presenting to C-level executives
  • Strong Negotiation Ability (Customer, Margin Integrity)
  • Contractual Business Process (RFP, RFI, RFQ)
  • Develop and execute business plan strategies
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Suite: Power Point, Word, Excel)
  • Residence: Home Office
