Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the COO, for a leading third party logistics company. Major emphasis on developing and executing an aggressive sales growth plan for all facilities within the State of Texas (seven facilities and growing). Will be responsible for the development and signing of profitable new business, additional business, and maintaining current accounts within the region. Primary responsibility is to drive new business development & revenue growth through the development of a National Account and Local clientele strategy. Responsible for leading the consultative, strategic, customer focused selling of supply chain solutions products and services in a team environment. Will manage a team of various levels of Business Development personnel including six current sales professionals. Collaborate with RVP, Operations in matrix management coordinating complete sales cycle process including prospect list initiation, lead generation, prospect qualification, analysis, RFQs, pricing, proposal preparation and presentation(s), contract signing, start-up and customer service follow-up after the sale. Challenge is to increase revenues and improve profitability.

Background Required:
  • 5 years of progressive Sales Leadership responsibility within either supply chain/ warehousing/ distribution and transportation.
  • Proven ability in team building, mentoring and growing talented individuals
  • Strong industry experience with specific knowledge of processors, wholesalers, brokers, retailers helpful
  • Operational finance skills (rate development, operating statements, yield management, budgeting).
  • Demonstrated ability closing business and organic growth of existing accounts
  • Direct the pricing proposal and contract negotiation approval process. (RFP, RFQ, RFI)
  • Review quarterly plan (revenue targets, margin integrity, “value stream” analysis)
  • Computer literate (Office Suite, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • CRM: (i.e. Salesforce.com)
  • Residence: Dallas, TX (relocation assistance)
  • Travel: Up to 50%
  • Education: BS or BA degree
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Food Industry knowledgeable (FDA, Compliance Issues)
  • Specific Experience selling (Public and Dedicated Warehousing, Transportation services within the temperature-controlled sector at the National and Local account level)
  • Education: MBA or advanced degree
