Regional Sales Manager

Product: Protection relays and DFRs
Candidate Location Requirement: Work from home but candidates must reside in Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, Montreal, or Edmonton.
Travel: Up to 50%
Salary: $100k-$140k plus benefits

Role Summary

We are seeking a driven, customer-focused, and detail-oriented Regional Sales Manager to support business growth within the electric power industry. This role is well suited for a self-motivated sales professional with experience working with power utilities, strong knowledge of power system products, and familiarity with secondary equipment such as protection and monitoring solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, supporting regional sales growth, and working closely with internal technical and customer support teams. Strong communication, organization, time management, and multitasking skills are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships with utility customers, channel partners, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact between Company and its customers to ensure clear communication and timely information flow.
  • Support existing customers with their technical, commercial, and product-related requirements.
  • Identify new accounts, growth opportunities, and target customers within the assigned region.
  • Develop and execute strategies for product promotion, customer engagement, and product approvals.
  • Support annual sales planning and budgeting in alignment with Company’s growth objectives.
  • Work with channel partners to expand market presence and generate new business opportunities.
  • Prepare and manage monthly and quarterly order booking forecasts to support regional sales targets.
  • Represent Company at trade shows, industry events, technical meetings, and conferences.
  • Track inquiries, prospects, customer activity, and opportunity progress within the CRM system.
  • Provide weekly activity updates, including customer meetings, sales opportunities, market intelligence, and business development activity.
  • Promote Company’s products through customer visits, presentations, demonstrations, training sessions, and regular follow-up.
  • Partner with engineering and technical teams to maintain strong product knowledge as it relates to electric power system applications.
  • Work closely with technical support and customer service teams to address customer needs and resolve issues.
  • Monitor competitor products, market trends, and customer requirements within the assigned territory.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience selling technical or complex technology-based solutions.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the electric power systems industry.
  • Established relationships or strong access to transmission, distribution, and generation utility customers.
  • Demonstrated success developing large accounts within a complex technical sales environment.
  • Experience with protective relay, fault recorder, or related secondary power system applications.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and customer relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with internal teams.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with business software and CRM tools.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and results-oriented.
  • Strong follow-through and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must successfully complete a satisfactory background check.
  • Must provide negative drug test results where required.
