Regional Sales Manager
Position Summary
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining profitable relationships with customers and business channel partners on behalf of the company, and for actively prospecting for new accounts and maximizing sales potential with existing customers. As the Regional Sales Manager, you are the primary external representative of our organization.
You are a member of the Sales and marketing team, reporting to the Sales Manager, and you are accountable for meeting pre-established monthly, quarterly and annual revenue and sales goals. The strategic marketing and sales activities of the entire team are designed to achieve these revenue goals.
Because you will be in contact with our current and prospective customers, and in a key position to influence their satisfaction and our company prosperity, this position requires excellent communication skills, tact and professionalism.
Responsibilities
Communicate regularly with the sales, marketing, and the production teams, and providing necessary field information to guarantee client objectives are met
Follow systems and procedures outlined in the company manual
Participate as a key team player by supporting operations as needed
At least 50% travel to customer sites
Prospecting, cold calls & customer presentations
Prepares quotes, sales activity reports and keeps an expense and mileage log
Identify prospects, customers and leads/prospects and develop/maintain relationships to ensure attainment of company business goals. Supports efforts to consistently create and grow the base of lead generation
Qualifications
5+ years working within or selling to the grain industry (preferred)
Knowledge of and fluency working in the grain industry
Successful sales & marketing experience is a must
Ability to work independently with little supervision
Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not necessary
Strong work ethic, great personality and the desire to make a lot of money
Ability to drive the business revenue on a short-term and long-term basis by targeting; identifying, meeting and profiling qualified clients to obtain orders
Ability to maintain and increase the customer base by completing cold calls, engaging in discovery conversations & customer presentations
Excellent communications skills, both written & oral
Work Environment
Variable work environment: As a Regional Sales Manager, work is conducted both indoors and out in varying environmental conditions. Your work will be conducted in your home office telephoning customers, presenting products in a customer’s conference room, as well as in the field touring grain elevator and processing facilities
Several hours of the day may be spent operating a motor vehicle to visit a client
Appearance must at all times represent the company image
Fast-paced environment: Subject to numerous schedule and priority changes and short notice activity
