Regional Sales Manager-Midwest
Lighting/C&I
We are focused on new construction and Turnkey Retrofits within all commercial and industrial verticals as well as traditional or non-traditional National Accounts. This position is responsible for closing lighting business within these segments within a regional territory.
In this role, you will develop your own sales leads and contacts or when provided, develop those given. You will build and maintain customer loyalty by growing relationships with key customer personnel and consistently presenting the company’s value propositions and service initiatives in the new construction and retrofit business. You will be accountable for achieving specific sales goals, providing account sales plans, keeping the company abreast of client changes and movement. You will work hand in hand with the quotations department and project management team to ensure total customer satisfaction is achieved in concert with the company’s history of “the customer comes first” philosophy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive lighting sales in the new construction/retrofit markets in all market verticals.
- Develop market knowledge and strategies to penetrate and expand into new markets.
- Spearhead your regions invitation to, response to, and winning of client RFP/RFQs.
- Serve as the sales leader for your region in concert with internal teams.
- Advance company sales strategies with clients to ensure continuous sales growth and loyalty.
- Review and amend clients lighting programs and designs to benefit them and the company.
- Work closely with internal sales functions to ensure the customer is receiving world class service and all their needs and expectations are being met.
- Maintain knowledge and awareness of the national and regional competition and competitors’ key employees to advance the company’s objectives.
- Apprise the company of the regions market size, market conditions, competition status, and trends to guarantee the company is focusing and addressing all items accurately
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Self-sufficient, self-motivated, self-accountable, but equally Team friendly, unifying, and participatory.
- Exceptional lighting knowledge of manufacturers products, LED sources, performance, and application.
- Proven track record of successfully developing clients, negotiating, and superior closing skills.
- Ability to communicate a high value proposition and leverage expertise to win new business.
- Entirely familiar with both Nat’l Acct. and commercial construction bid practices.
- Comfortable reading plans and doing lighting takeoffs and compiling quotations
- Proficient in evaluating lighting specifications for adherence or value engineering purposes.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office, Adobe, etc.
- Collaborative in improving the company’s processes, procedures, and operation.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Direct end user selling within the lighting industry is essential: 10 years minimum
- Experience in selling within the lighting industry is essential: 10 years minimum
- Experience managing sales accounts regionally or nationally: 5 years minimum
- Bachelor’s Degree Desirable
