Our client is a National Distributor of Building Products and have hired SnapDragon to fill a Regional Sales Manager position. We are seeking an experienced leader to join the Management Team as the Regional Sales Manager. We are seeking people who the RVP described as "News makers, not New reporters" meaning we are seeking sales professionals with a quantifiable track record of developing strategies, executing on them and hitting goals. The primary objective of these roles will be to bring Strategic Marketing insight across the business to the regional managers and Senior Management Team. In this role, you will work to identify and analyze market opportunities, market structure, competitive landscape, potential offerings, value proposition, channels and market strategies. In addition, you will be expected to drive business growth, identify trends and help the company get ahead of them, forging the future in sustainable markets. The individual who will thrive in this position will have a deep understanding of how market research and analysis can help discern market structure and optimize product/market strategy. S/he will be able to work across a broad front of differing markets, discerning and exploring opportunities, and will enjoy driving growth thinking in a lively senior management group. S/he will most enjoy successfully launching new market initiatives, and collaborating with others to realize their potential. This is an "In the field" position working directly with your team of 7-10 outside reps and a book of business of over $100 Million in current sales.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Work with Sr. Mgmt. Team to identify, understand, and hone your approach to market opportunities
  • Develop and execute business development road map to define and create new market opportunities, ensuring strong alignment to our long-term vision and strategy
  • Enrich our understanding of current markets, trends and potential future strategies
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new and existing products, in partnership with functional leaders
  • Collaborate with Purchasing and internal product teams on product requirements needed to drive strategic partnerships
  • Identify and build global pipeline of partners in priority areas
  • Build capabilities and partner with analytics and research/insights teams to take a data-driven approach to business development / strategic partnerships
  • Define and drive pricing and revenue models
  • Train your team to sell, build relationships and drive revenue

Position Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of 10+ years in strategic/business development, marketing/market research and/or sales
  • B-to-B industry experience Building Products
  • Strong strategic thinking skills and ability to bring both structure and creativity to challenging problems
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills; and ability to build trusting relationships
  • Entrepreneurial/opportunistic mindset, high tolerance for ambiguity, a penchant for experimentation, and bias towards action
  • Ability to lead thought and discussion in an engaged senior management group
  • Knowledge of Distribution Channels throughout the LBM industry a must
