Job Description

Regional Property Manager - New York City - $200,000-250,000

We are partnering with a national real estate company who are seeking a high-performing Regional Property Manager to join their growing New York City platform — a lean, entrepreneurial team with direct access to ownership and a robust pipeline of new development projects.

About the role

This is a new position created to support rapid pipeline growth. The Regional Property Manager will oversee the general administration and operations of a growing NYC multifamily portfolio — currently two active properties — with significant expansion underway. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Residential Property Management, this leader will directly supervise Property Managers and will be instrumental in shaping the platform as new assets come online.

This is a field-based role. The right candidate thrives with autonomy, operates effectively without heavy infrastructure, and can help build something rather than simply manage it. New Development experience is required for this role.

Key responsibilities

Portfolio operations

  • Oversee day-to-day operations across the NYC and New Jersey multifamily portfolio
  • Ensure properties are maintained in excellent physical condition with stabilized fiscal performance
  • Conduct regular property inspections and ensure compliance with NYC local laws, Fair Housing, and the ADA

Lease-up & new development

  • Lead lease-up efforts on new construction assets
  • Partner with developers during pre-development, contributing to underwriting, design review, and staffing plans
  • Ensure a smooth transition from construction to operations
  • Affordable housing & regulatory compliance
  • Manage compliance for properties with affordable components, including 421A tax abatement programs
  • Maintain oversight of all compliance requirements from applicable funding sources
  • Stay current on NYC affordable housing regulations and local law changes

Financial management

  • Collaborate with property teams to develop budgets aligned with NOI targets
  • Analyze and report financial performance to senior management
  • Approve property expenditures and ensure adherence to capital expenditure policy

Team leadership

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop two Property Managers
  • Lead recruiting, hiring, training, and performance management across the portfolio
  • Ensure on-site teams are well-versed in company policies and NYC-specific regulatory requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–5 years of Regional Property Manager experience in NYC multifamily (required)
  • Demonstrated lease-up experience on new construction assets
  • Deep knowledge of 421A tax abatement programs and NYC local law requirements
  • Pre-development experience, including involvement in underwriting, design, and staffing
  • Luxury or Class A asset background strongly preferred
  • Strong financial acumen; proficiency with property management software
  • Entrepreneurial mindset — comfortable operating in a lean environment with minimal red tape and high autonomy

Why join us

  • Direct access to ownership
  • Work closely with senior leadership without layers of bureaucracy
  • Pipeline vision
  • Join at an inflection point and help build a growing NYC platform
  • High autonomy
  • Entrepreneurial, field-based culture with minimal red tape
