We are partnering with a well-established, privately owned multifamily management company to identify an experienced Regional Property Manager to oversee a stabilized portfolio of approximately 3,000 units throughout multiple mid-Atlantic states.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned multifamily professional who thrives in a highly visible, hands-on leadership role. The portfolio is performing well and the assets are in solid condition. What ownership needs now is a strong regional leader who can serve as the eyes and ears of the portfolio—providing operational oversight, elevating team performance, refining processes, and driving continued success.
This is not a developmental or "next step" position. We are seeking a proven Regional Property Manager who can immediately step into the role, operate independently, and bring a sophisticated, results-driven approach to portfolio management.
The Opportunity
As Regional Property Manager, you will oversee multiple communities, property managers, and onsite teams while maintaining full accountability for operational performance, leasing results, financial reporting, resident satisfaction, and team development.
You will work closely with an engaged ownership group that values accountability, transparency, and strong execution. Success in this role requires confidence, professionalism, and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization—including the ability to respectfully challenge assumptions, provide strategic recommendations, and advocate for what is best for the portfolio.
This is a field-oriented position for someone who enjoys being present at their communities, building relationships with their teams, and staying closely connected to day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational oversight for a multi-state multifamily portfolio.
- Lead, mentor, and develop Property Managers and onsite teams to maximize performance and engagement.
- Drive occupancy, leasing performance, resident retention, and overall asset performance.
- Analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and operating reports to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Partner closely with ownership to provide operational insights, recommendations, and performance updates.
- Conduct regular property visits to ensure operational excellence, curb appeal, compliance, and customer service standards.
- Implement and improve operational processes, systems, and best practices across the portfolio.
- Hold teams accountable to company standards, financial goals, and operational objectives.
- Support recruiting, succession planning, training, and talent development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, local regulations, and applicable housing programs.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Regional Property Manager experience overseeing multifamily communities.
- Strong background managing Class B multifamily assets.
- Demonstrated success leading multiple property managers and onsite teams.
- Proven ability to drive operational performance, occupancy, NOI growth, and resident satisfaction.
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting.
- Experience working directly with ownership groups and executive leadership.
- Proficiency with Entrata strongly preferred.
- Affordable housing, HUD, or mixed-income housing experience is a plus but not required.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
