A growing, entrepreneurial multifamily owner-operator is seeking an experienced Regional Manager to oversee and help scale a rapidly expanding portfolio of conventional market-rate communities. This is a high-impact opportunity to join a company during an exciting growth phase and play a key role in shaping operations, team performance, and portfolio strategy.
Reporting directly to ownership and senior leadership, this role offers significant visibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to build operational infrastructure while driving performance across a growing portfolio.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on operational leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, understands how to stabilize and optimize multifamily assets, and can effectively lead teams through growth, change, and operational challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations for a growing portfolio of conventional market-rate multifamily communities.
- Lead, mentor, and support onsite Property Managers and site teams to drive operational excellence and portfolio performance.
- Build and implement operational systems, policies, reporting structures, and best practices to support portfolio growth and scalability.
- Drive occupancy, leasing performance, resident retention, NOI growth, expense control, and overall asset performance.
- Conduct regular property visits and provide hands-on operational support to onsite teams.
- Partner closely with ownership, asset management, and acquisitions teams on onboarding new assets, operational strategy, and portfolio initiatives.
- Assist with property transitions, staffing changes, and operational stabilization efforts as needed.
- Analyze property financials, budgets, leasing trends, delinquency, and operational KPIs to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Ensure consistent execution of company standards, customer service expectations, and operational processes across the portfolio.
- Build strong relationships with vendors, residents, and internal stakeholders while fostering a culture of accountability and performance.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Regional Manager experience within conventional market-rate multifamily property management.
- Strong operational background managing Class A, B, or value-add multifamily communities.
- Proven ability to improve occupancy, resident retention, financial performance, and onsite team effectiveness.
- Experience managing geographically dispersed portfolios preferred.
- Strong financial acumen including budgeting, variance analysis, NOI management, and operational reporting.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in both strategic and tactical capacities.
- A true “roll-up-your-sleeves” operator who thrives in hands-on, fast-moving environments.
- Someone equally comfortable developing operational structure and stepping onsite to solve immediate challenges.
- A highly responsive, detail-oriented leader with strong follow-through and accountability.
- A Regional Manager who can build trust with onsite teams while driving high performance standards.
- Someone who enjoys helping grow platforms and improve operations during periods of rapid expansion.
The Opportunity
- Join as one of the first Regional Managers for a growing conventional multifamily platform.
- Start with a smaller portfolio and grow alongside future acquisitions and expansion efforts.
- Play a key role in shaping operations, processes, culture, and team structure.
- Work directly with ownership in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.
- Significant long-term growth potential as the company continues to scale.
