Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Vice President of Truckload Operations of a leading transportation and logistics provider offering multiple transportation solutions including middle truckload service. This is a rapidly growing transportation organization that will continue to grow both organically and through acquisitive growth. With a large fleet of company trucks and the services of brokerage, yard management, dispatch, market analysis, rate negotiations, and cutting-edge technology, they will continue to grow in an exciting environment. This organization manages daily routed and on-demand delivery services across the country, with a dedicated team of professionals handling jobs of all shapes, sizes, timeframes, and locations. Through deep expertise in transportation, they drive visibility, flexibility, and predictability for their clients across the delivery spectrum from first call to the final mile and everywhere between. With $250 million dollars in revenue the company has 1,000 tractors & 3,000 trailers.

The Regional Operations Manager responsible for the overall performance of all customer service and load planning of all OTR employees and drivers under the purview (350 total drivers and 7 direct reports). They will be focused on all metrics and levels to achieve monthly and annual goals. Aling all direct reports to their tasks to ensure all goals are met. Accountable for the network and working with sales and upper management for the best-in-class fleet. Managing and providing the most efficient transportation solutions for their customers. With a specific focus on customer service and load planning the ROM will be tasked with instilling the highest level of efficiency and work ethic amongst his team to ensure they service all customers to the utmost satisfaction.

Background Required:
  • Truckload operations management
  • Load-Planning (i.e., OTR rates, head-haul, back-haul)
  • Customer service experience
  • OTR fleet oversight
  • FMCSA, DOT, HOS, ELD, EPA & OSHA knowledge
  • KPI/Metric driven
  • Planning, organizational, analytical, and financial skills
  • Process improvement
  • Education: High School or GED with relevant experience
  • Travel: less than 15%
  • Residence: Jackson, TN (Relocation assistance provided)
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • TMS software (McLeod, TMW, PeopleNet, ELD, Qualcomm)
  • Truckload dry van experience
  • Customer Service Level Agreement knowledge
  • Monitoring and rectifying customer scorecards
  • Understanding of multiple service offerings
  • Driver retention strategies
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (i.e., transportation, logistics)
