Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the COO for a logistics organization that supports final mile industry in time critical delivery. They accomplish that objective through logistics services, home delivery services, multi-vendor support, and brokerage. They provide nationwide end-to-end logistics for both shippers and carriers in the small-package and final mile delivery space. Primary focus is being a delivery service provider for a large eCommerce provider. Also, they work with local, regional, and national contract motor carriers, third party providers, dedicated cartage, LTL & truckload companies. The organization operates on the site of a large eCommerce provider, providing a large business to consumer operation 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
The Regional Operations Manager (Mid-Atlantic Region), will provide leadership, supervision, direction, and mentoring to services operations managers providing dedicated last mile routed delivery services in the Greater Baltimore and Washington DC markets. Operations all occur at the operations site, at which they are up to 70 company rented and leased vans and up to 100 employee drivers operating 7 days a week. Routes are on average 80 miles a day with up to 300 deliveries. They must maintain high level customer service relationships with client, utilize metrics and data as supplied by client and management. Works with Operations Manager to manage costs over fuel, tolls, uniforms, vehicle rentals, payroll, turnover, damage experiences, training costs, and driver profitability. Execute adherence to policies, procedures and protocols in a dynamic environment. Responsible for managing fleet vehicles including fuel cards, toll cards, tracking, inspection, maintenance, insurance, and rental and lease terminations. Responsible for support and management of all Fleet Safety Programs (driver monitoring, video training, accident review, road tests, safety visits and audits, DOT, and accident reporting). Leads driver recruiting and retention, adjusting to the increase and decrease in routes during peak seasons.
