SHAPE THE FUTURE OF QUALITY CARE

We're seeking an accomplished clinical nurse leader to serve as Regional Director of Clinical Services across a multi-state network of senior living and rehabilitation communities. This is a pivotal leadership role where your clinical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and mentoring ability will directly elevate care standards, improve resident outcomes, and guide facility teams toward operational excellence.

If you're an experienced RN with deep long-term care knowledge, proven success in multi-facility consulting or oversight, and a passion for translating regulatory excellence into daily quality care, this role will challenge and inspire you. You'll work independently across facilities in multiple states, serving as the clinical backbone that strengthens operations and ensures regulatory compliance.

This is not a desk job—you'll spend significant time in the field, building relationships with facility leaders, conducting hands-on assessments, mentoring nursing teams, and driving measurable improvements in resident care quality.


YOUR CLINICAL MANDATE

As Regional Director of Clinical Services, you'll provide strategic clinical leadership across assigned facilities:

Survey Readiness & Quality Improvement

  • Lead comprehensive survey readiness initiatives aligned with CMS regulations and Appendix PP requirements
  • Conduct mock surveys using F-Tag specific criteria to identify and remediate gaps before official inspections
  • Develop and oversee corrective action plans addressing common survey focus areas
  • Drive measurable improvements in survey-sensitive quality metrics
  • Mentor facility teams in deficiency prevention and compliance excellence

Clinical Education & Staff Development

  • Deliver hands-on training sessions for nursing and clinical staff on evidence-based practices
  • Facilitate competency assessments for medication administration and clinical procedures
  • Train staff on regulatory requirements and best practices in pressure injury prevention, fall prevention, infection control, and pain management
  • Mentor Directors of Nursing and clinical department heads on leadership and compliance strategies
  • Build organizational cultures centered on quality and resident-centered care

Regulatory Compliance & Best Practices

  • Ensure consistent implementation of policies and procedures across all assigned facilities
  • Integrate evidence-based clinical practices aligned with CMS guidance
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with state survey agencies and quality improvement organizations
  • Ensure full HIPAA compliance for protected health information management
  • Participate in policy development and regulatory updates

Clinical Consultation & Assessment

  • Conduct regular facility visits to assess care delivery and clinical operations
  • Review quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) data
  • Identify clinical improvement opportunities and support measurable goal-setting
  • Monitor compliance with comprehensive care planning and quality of life standards
  • Provide ongoing mentorship and clinical guidance to facility leadership

Professional Representation

  • Represent the organization in state nursing home associations and professional forums
  • Advocate for positive change in long-term care standards and quality improvement
  • Build industry relationships that strengthen organizational reputation and positioning

WHO WE'RE SEEKING

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) with current, active RN license in good standing
  • Minimum 3+ years of clinical experience in long-term care settings
  • Multi-facility consulting, regional oversight, or director-level clinical experience strongly preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state LTC regulations, CMS Appendix PP requirements, and survey processes
  • Demonstrated expertise in quality improvement, QAPI processes, and survey readiness initiatives
  • Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and critical thinking abilities
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for mentoring and training
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple facility relationships simultaneously
  • Valid driver's license with excellent driving record (required for extensive travel)

Strongly Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with mock survey processes and deficiency remediation
  • Background in infection prevention, pressure injury prevention, or fall prevention initiatives
  • Prior experience mentoring Directors of Nursing and clinical leadership teams
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and healthcare privacy standards
  • Familiarity with healthcare IT systems and QAPI data analysis tools

THE ROLE

Position Type: Full-time, Regional Director of Clinical Services

Scope: Clinical oversight of senior living and rehabilitation communities across multiple states

Travel Requirements: Approximately 50-65% travel within assigned region; some overnight stays will be required, based on your location with nominal weekend availability.

Work Schedule: Generally day hours with occasional after-hours or weekend availability for urgent clinical matters. Expect to be in assigned facilities 3-4 days per week; Fridays are work-from-home days for administrative work, data analysis, and strategic planning.
