$60,000-$75,000
Our client in downtown Ottawa is a seeking a Real Estate Clerk to support their growing practice.
Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Managing purchase, sale, and refinance files from start to finish;
- Managing builder transactions from start to finish, including development work;
- Managing files involving commercial purchases, sales, and financings from start to finish;
- Conducting title searches, drafting requisitions, preparing and registering deeds and charges/discharges;
- Managing closing activities for transactions;
- Preparing transactional documents, including for private and institutional lenders;
- Drafting correspondence, coordinating with clients and lenders;
- Ordering and issuing title insurance policies;
- Scheduling appointments and interacting with clients and/or other parties;
- Filing, diarizing deadlines, and maintaining a solid reminder system;
- Handling general administration of file work;
- Preparing various accounting documents including but not limited to preparation of client accounts;
- Opening and closing client files, including preparing reports to clients and banks/lenders; and
- Any other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Solid knowledge of real estate legal procedures and statutes;
- Knowledge of title insurance software;
- Experience with MS Office software;
- Knowledge of TeraView, Unity, and RealtiWeb;
- Knowledge of Soluno accounting software;
- Strong knowledge of real estate law;
- Excellent attention to detail, including the ability to proofread and format documents, time management and organizational skills;
- Ability to multi-task;
- Professional, tactful, and highly dependable;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment;
- Has immense pride in their work; and
- Work collaboratively in a workplace with dignity and respect.
- 5+ year(s) of previous real estate experience
- Experience with commercial purchase and sale transactions would be considered a strong asset
- Experience with builder transactions/development work would be considered a strong asset
- Minimum of a law clerk diploma or equivalent combination of work experience and education
