Focus:
- Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients according to the prescribed plan, ensuring precision and adherence to safety standards.
- Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment, including linear accelerators, while following applicable standards, codes, and regulations.
- Monitor patient comfort, safety, and response to treatment throughout each session, providing clear instructions and emotional support.
- Maintain accurate treatment records, including dose calculations, patient positioning, and treatment outcomes.
- Collaborate with the radiation oncology team, including physicians, medical physicists, and nurses, to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- Stay current with advancements in radiation therapy techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures related to radiation therapy.
Skill Set:
- Completion of a formal training program in Radiation Therapy from an accredited institution is required.
- Must hold American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiation Therapy and possess a state radiation therapy license where applicable.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a clinical setting.
- In-depth knowledge of radiation therapy techniques, safety standards, and treatment planning.
- A commitment to patient-centered care, ensuring a compassionate approach during all interactions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
