Radiation Physicist

Our client is clinical facility offers radiation oncology services, surgical oncology services, an infusion suite, pediatric oncology services, research services, personalized medicine, access to breast cancer services and a variety of support services that attend to the psychological, emotional and educational needs of our patients.

Job Summary:

The Radiation Physicist will be responsible for performing all Medical Physics tasks necessary for the safe and accurate delivery of ionizing radiation in the Radiation Therapy Department. The physicist will participate in treatment planning, dosimeter, quality assurance activities, linear accelerator data acquisition and machine maintenance. This position requires participation in all administrative functions necessary for continued approval by the regulatory agencies subscribed to by the Radiation Therapy department and Hospitals. The physicist will be responsible to the Lead Physicist in matters of daily work priority and flow, daily direction of dosimetrists, and proper billing. The Radiation Physicists will work in collaboration with the Radiation Oncologists to optimize patient treatments and outcomes.

Qualifications:

Required Education:

  • Masters or Doctorate degree in Radiologic Physics or a closely related field.

Required License:

  • Certification by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Physics or American Board of Medical Physics in Therapeutic Radiology Physics

Required Experience:

  • Three years in a Therapeutic Medical facility as a medical physicist.
