RPGLE Software Developer for Analytics & Warehouse Management Systems

We are excited to offer a full-time opportunity for a seasoned RPGLE Developer to join our dynamic IT team. This role is crucial in developing and supporting essential systems within the manufacturing and distribution sectors. The ideal candidate will bring a robust background in RPG programming and a deep understanding of database and analytical processes. Located in a supportive and stable work environment, this position offers a hybrid work model with the necessity to be on-site three days each week.

Salary: DOE per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using RPG, RPGLE, and SQLRPGLE
  • Create and maintain robust reporting and analytics solutions tailored for business stakeholders
  • Efficiently troubleshoot iSeries program issues, including error messages and alerts
  • Proactively collaborate with both business and IT leadership to streamline and automate business processes
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to capture requirements and deliver precise software solutions
  • Liaise with ERP vendors for support and collaborative development projects
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of IBM Power Systems software updates
  • Assist in supporting critical month-end and year-end processing and procedures
  • Perform other related duties as necessitated by the ERP Manager or as emerging from departmental needs

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in RPG, RPGLE, and SQLRPGLE development
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IBM iSeries applications, including UI, server architecture, system architecture, and DB2 databases
  • A strong record of translating technical requirements into business solutions
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with VAI S2K ERP strongly preferred
  • Experience with VAI Warehouse Management Systems and analytics reporting
  • Demonstrable experience in database administration and management
  • Prior experience in manufacturing and distribution industries is beneficial
