RN SCU Nurse Special Care Critical Care

Our client is seeking a successful SCU Special Care unit RN to assist in taking a great unit to new heights of patient care.

The Registered Professional Nurse Acute Care is accountable for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process. The RN assesses plans, delivers, coordinates, integrates, and evaluates nursing care related to patients needs. The RN contributes to the support of patients through interdisciplinary teamwork. The RN I status and job description is only appropriate for a new nurse in the first year of practice, as support from others in incorporated into this role as an expectation. Therefore, all RN I's are expected to complete the requirements of the Nurse Residency program and complete the application and credentialing process for successful advancement to RN II by 12-15 months after hire. RNS II through IV are accountable to assure that the care provided is consistent with applicable standards, regulations, statutes and state, federal law. RNs II and IV serves as a resource for other staff and clinicians as required. The RN IV provides leadership to department staff, serving as a resource and mentor. The RN IV contributes to the body of professional nursing practice through participation in research, committee work, and professional organizations, internal and external.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited Baccalaureate, Associate or Diploma Professional Nursing program is required

Licensure/Certificates:

  • NYS licensure as Registered Nurse or valid interim permit must be obtained within 90 days of employment
  • BLS certification or equivalent must be obtained within 30 days from start date

Experience:

  • New graduate or less than 1 year experience as an RN
