RN Medical Surgical Med Surg

Our client is a private, nonprofit acute care community hospital serving twenty-two communities in a two-county area in the rural Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Located on 30 acres in a quiet, easily accessible part of the city, it blends medical expertise and technology with a genuine concern for people. In addition to a population base of over 27,000 residents, the hospital provides care to the many area visitors, summer vacationers, skiers and other sportsmen.

They have engaged us to find them a RN to staff their busy Medical Surgical unit.

The Registered Nurse II utilizes the nursing process to independently deliver nursing care to patients in order to achieve quality outcomes. Communicates need for guidance/supervision based on self-assessment of strengths and limitations. Promotes a positive image of nursing and promotes collegiality among healthcare team members.

Job Requirements

 

  • Minimum Education and Experience: RN II

 

Education:

 

  • Graduate of a nursing program: diploma, associate degree, or baccalaureate program.

 

Experience:

 

  • At least 3 months and must meet ALL requirements of RN II

 

License and Certificates Required:

 

  • Valid and Current Vermont Registered Nurse License, Basic Life Support (BLS): Required for hire, Advanced Life Support (ACLS): OR, PACU, ICU, and ED (ASAP following hire; must be obtained within 1 year of hire), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP): MCH (ASAP following hire; must be obtained within 1 year of hire), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS): MCH (ASAP following hire; must be obtained within 1 year of hire)

 

Reporting Relationships:

 

  • Supervised By- Director of the assigned area, Supervision Of- Registered Nurses I, Licensed Vocational Nurses, Nurses Aides, Orderlies, Unit Secretary, and all others assigned to a specific patient care team including students from various Health care programs.

 

Equipment Utilized:

 

  • Electronic Medical Record, PC, Common Office Equipment, Patient equipment
    appropriate to area/unit.
