RN Maternal Child

Our client is a private, nonprofit acute care community hospital serving twenty-two communities in a two-county area in the rural Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Located on 30 acres in a quiet, easily accessible part of the city, it blends medical expertise and technology with a genuine concern for people. In addition to a population base of over 27,000 residents, the hospital provides care to the many area visitors, summer vacationers, skiers and other sportsmen.

They have engaged us to find them a RN to staff their busy Maternity Department.

Utilizes the nursing process, incorporates other clinical disciplines into the process and coordinates the care while acting as the patient advocate. Participates in-patient and family teaching. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing staff and other personnel. Maintains standards for professional nursing practice. Requirements: Current Vermont RN or RNA license. Graduation from accredited school of nursing. Successfully completed a course in External Fetal Monitoring within six months of hire. Satisfactory completion of Neonatal Resuscitation Certification. Provides family centered care competently for patients in Newborn Nursery, Labor, Delivery, Post Partum and Pediatrics.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Education and Experience: RN

Education:

  • Graduate of a nursing program: diploma, associate degree, or baccalaureate program.

Experience:

  • At least 3 months and must meet ALL requirements of RN

License and Certificates Required:

  • Valid and Current Vermont Registered Nurse License or eligible, Basic Life Support (BLS): Required for hire, Advanced Life Support (ACLS): OR, PACU, ICU, and ED (ASAP following hire; must be obtained within 1 year of hire), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP): MCH (ASAP following hire; must be obtained within 1 year of hire), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS): MCH (ASAP following hire; must be obtained within 1 year of hire)

Reporting Relationships:

  • Supervised By-Director of the assigned area, Supervision Of-Registered Nurses I, Licensed Vocational Nurses, Nurses Aides, Orderlies, Unit Secretary, and all others assigned to a specific patient care team including students from various Health care programs.

Equipment Utilized:

  • Electronic Medical Record, PC, Common Office Equipment, Patient equipment appropriate to area/unit.
