REGISTERED NURSE - TEMP ASSIGNMENT - July 7th - July 25th
$55.00/HOUR
This is a temporary opportunity working from 7:00am - 3:30pm Mon - Fri. -
Phoenix, Az.
Responsible for the delivery and evaluation of patient care in a residential treatment facility; ensuring the
health, comfort and safety of clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts assessments of each new admission within regulations to document and promote
continuity of care.
Conducts Health Screenings of children residing with clients in residential treatment.
Performs and records medical assessments, such as BP readings, pulse rates, temperature
readings, TB testing; monitors the collection of urine specimens, etc.
Works with primary care providers and other health care providers to ensure continuity,
timeliness and appropriateness of care to clients and evaluates the process on an on-going basis to
assure effectiveness.
Oversees client self-medication procedures and recordkeeping. Providing staff trainings.
Modifies the plan of care to provide appropriate comfort during times of physical and emotional
distress.
Observes, monitors and reports signs, symptoms and changes in client’s conditions in a timely
matter and accurately documents nursing care given.
Provides new staff with TB testing as needed.
Identifies clients’ needs or goals and helps to determine priorities of care.
Accurately administers, reports and documents prescription medications and/or therapeutic
treatments, such as wound care, skin care or care for minor injuries/illnesses.
Assists clients in scheduling appropriate healthcare appointments including medical, dental,
vision.
Provides medical information on a need to know basis.
Complies with program standards and regulations pertaining to the delivery of medical services in
residential treatment facilities and/or outpatient settings.
Appropriate response during medical emergencies.
Participates in shift change report by collecting and/or providing information.
Participates in discharge planning and teachings.
Interacts with family members, utilizing therapeutic communication to promote trust and
effective after care.
Maintains confidentiality/HIPAA guidelines.
Participates in promoting a safe client environment by continuously monitoring for hazards.
EDUCATIONAL/WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Current Registered Nurse licensure with State of Arizona
Current PPD or Chest X-Ray.
One (1) year prior professional nursing experience, in substance abuse treatment facility
preferred.
Current Fingerprint Clearance card.
First Aid and CPR certified.
SKILLS REQUIREMENT:
Demonstrates knowledge of medical protocols (including biohazard protocols) and interventions,
medications, medical techniques, applications, and appliances utilized to assist clients with
chronic medical conditions accurately and safely.
Understanding of psychopharmacology and the use of medications with the adults and/or
substance abuse population.
Knowledge of behavior management, crisis intervention, and interventions common to clients
with addictive disease as well as to non-violent crisis intervention practice.
Ability to use sound judgment in decision making regarding the care and comfort of clients in
physical or emotional distress.
Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with a wide
range of people, teams, managers, supervisors, and vendors.
Must demonstrate critical thinking, problem- solving and organizational and time management
skills.
Must be able to work cooperatively with others in a team approach.
