Company introduction:

A groundbreaking startup is addressing one of the most critical challenges of our time: climate change.

With an ambitious goal of removing a billion tons of CO2 by 2050, this company is developing the most energy-efficient and scalable Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology on the market.

Their innovative approach combines two CO2 desorption technologies to overcome the limitations of current processes, making large-scale deployment feasible without unsustainable energy, land, or water usage.

Job General scope:

My client is seeking a skilled R&D Pilot Technician to join their Paris-based team.

In this hands-on role, you’ll manage operations at the DAC pilot facility in Nanterre, supporting the research and development team by operating and maintaining a 10 kg CO₂/day capture unit.

Reporting directly to the CTO, you’ll be instrumental in demonstrating continuous operation and contributing to the success of this cutting-edge technology.

Main Objectives:

  • Manage daily operations at the pilot facility, including start-up, shutdown, and routine checks on the DAC system.
  • Oversee the installation, commissioning, and operation of core process components (CO₂ absorption and desorption units) and utilities.
  • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and sampling tasks to ensure optimal facility performance.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team to define and conduct tests based on the experimental plan.
  • Document operations, test results, and maintain safety protocols, ensuring a structured approach to pilot operations.
  • Produce detailed test reports and present findings to stakeholders.

Position Benefits:

  • Permanent CDI position.
  • The position will offer a very high level of autonomy and the opportunity to make a practical contribution to mitigating the climate crisis.
  • Attractive package inclusive of shares options, health insurance, food ticket and transport

Qualification requirements:

  • Educational Background: BAC +2/+3 in chemistry, electrochemistry, instrumentation, or mechanics.
  • Experience: 4 years of experience in operating pilot-scale processes (e.g., water treatment, gas treatment, electrochemistry).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in pilot operations, maintenance, and calibration of process equipment. Familiarity with instrumentation and wet lab analytical methods is ideal.
  • Certification: Electrical certification (B1 or BE Measurement).
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English; French is a plus but not essential.
