Job Description

Our client in the construction firm is looking for a Quantity Surveyor. The ideal candidate will evaluate and improve existing budgets, review project plans, and prepare detailed quantity estimates. They will also negotiate contracts with vendors and contractors while building strong relationships with clients and site managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, covering all materials, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and tender documents to identify potential risks and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage and negotiate subcontracts with suppliers and contractors to achieve cost-effectiveness.
  • Review construction plans and prepare detailed quantity requirements.
  • Analyze maintenance and material costs, ensuring optimal contracts and deals.
  • Coordinate with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and manage reports, budgets, contracts, risk assessments, and related documents.
  • Advise managers and clients on project improvements and cost-saving strategies.
  • Track material inventory and place orders when necessary.
  • Document design changes and update budget plans accordingly.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Management, or a related field.
  • Membership in a recognized professional institute (e.g., RICS, ACQ) is an advantage.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in quantity surveying or a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in cost estimating software (e.g., S100, BCIS).
  • Strong understanding of construction costs, pricing, and estimating principles.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, strategize, and manage multiple projects.
  • Sound knowledge of construction techniques, standards, and procurement strategies.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong networking abilities to foster relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other key players in the construction industry.
Candidates must have experience in Road Construction.
