Guided Search Partners (GSP)
Guided Search Partners is an Executive Search firm built on Trust, Transparency, Specialization, and Long-term Relationships.
We connect high-performing professionals with organizations that value people, performance, and growth—helping leaders find roles where they can make an impact and build meaningful careers.
About the Opportunity
We’re partnering with a long-established plastics manufacturer known for producing tight-tolerance, high-performance components used in demanding applications. The business has grown in recent years and continues to invest in equipment and capability across molding, curing, and CNC finishing.
This Quality Technician (Level 1) role is open due to an upcoming retirement, and the team wants as much overlap as possible to transfer knowledge and build consistency. Quality is central here—parts are built to print, inspected to customer requirements, and supported by strong documentation and measurement discipline.
The environment fits someone who likes hands-on work, takes pride in doing it right, and wants to join a company where people tend to stay for the long haul.
What You’ll Do
-
Perform in-process, final, and first-article inspections using basic measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.).
-
Collect and record inspection data to demonstrate compliance to drawings and customer requirements.
-
Identify nonconforming parts and support documentation tied to inspections and disposition.
-
Read and interpret basic blueprint dimensioning and follow documented inspection procedures.
-
Use basic computer tools, including SPC software, to support inspection records and trend tracking.
-
Support computer-based inspection equipment as needed (video systems, microscopes, CMM, optical comparators).
-
Measure surface finish using a profilometer.
-
Maintain drawing control through documented procedures and work instructions.
-
Train others on proper use of basic inspection tools when needed.
Who You Are
You’re detail-minded and dependable. You can tell what meets spec and what doesn’t—and you take that responsibility seriously. You work safely, communicate clearly, and keep documentation clean and accurate. You also fit well in a team-first environment where work ethic and follow-through matter more than titles.
Preferred Experience & Attributes
-
Inspection experience in a manufacturing environment (plastics experience is a plus).
-
Comfortable with basic measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators).
-
Ability to read basic blueprints and complete inspection documentation accurately.
-
Basic computer skills; experience using SPC software is preferred.
-
Interest or experience with computerized inspection tools (video, microscope, CMM, optical comparator).
-
Strong aptitude, willingness to learn, and a steady work ethic.
