Quality Engineer Supervisor

The purpose of the Quality Engineer is to develop, execute, monitor, and improve the reliability of quality and manufacturing processes and outputs through the implementation of statistical process controls methods. Facilitate root cause analysis and problem resolution within manufacturing cells and ensure statistically capable, stable and reliable processes. This position is a backup for the Supervisor and Director of Quality Assurance and will assume FSQA responsibilities in their absence.

Essential Responsibilities

• Lead Problem Solving Events, from Basic 5Ys to Green Belt level events using statistical methods to improve performance and delight our customers.
• Document training tools and Standard/SOPs/OPLs/Work Instructions resulting from problem solving events or as required to improve quality and operational excellence.
• Develop and execute best practices in the effective closure of corrective and preventive action plans to permanently eradicate issues.
• Develop, implement, and monitor effective performance metrics of the rPE Quality Management Systems for all Manufacturing Value Streams.
• Lead Supplier Management Program, including corrective and preventive actions.
• Lead root cause analysis process and corrective and preventive actions process, including customer complaint investigations.
• Lead Product development and design improvement.
• Lead Gage R&R exercises to improve process variation and implement correction.
• Development, implement, validated analytical, attributable, variable, sequential sampling, Good Laboratory Practices, and other testing/sampling methods and procedures to ensure compliance with customer, company and regulatory standards and requirements for all value streams.
• Assist Leadership with analyzing of quality/Ops performance data (statistical and others) and key performance indicators (KPI), and provide actionable, accurate improvement information and reports.
• Participate or lead projects resulting in process streamlining, improvements, and cost savings.
• Lead Validation Studies and Process Capability Analysis to ensure effective process, equipment, and skillsets to eradicate process variability.
• Assist in the development and execution of product/food safety inspections and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) audits and Product Specifications as required.
• Adhere to applicable prerequisite programs (PRPs) per company HACCP/Food Safety and Quality requirements.
• Ensure Quality Performance information is stored, retrievable, and conforms to company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in projects and tasks as assigned by rPE Leadership.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Engineering or 5 years’ experience in QE roles.
• High proficiency in computer technology and systems experience in implementing and use of electronics. Quality Execution Systems-Tableau, SafetyChain, RedZone, and Minitab.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment, quick-learner, highly organized.
• Results-driven and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Good communication, presentation, report writing and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical information.
• Team player with high standards of integrity, ethics and behavior.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Smartsheet
• Willingness and ability to learn new systems.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret technical documents that includes equipment operation and maintenance manuals, and engineering drawings.
• Ability to use mathematical concepts such probability and statistical reasoning.
• Ability to speak effectively to senior leadership, managers, or employees at all levels in the company.
• Experience with Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing.
• Previous experience working in quality lab environment.
• Strong communication and analytical skills, ability to speak Spanish a plus.
• Hand-on approach, with “can-do” attitude.

Salary Range

The anticipated salary range for this position is $116K-128K annually, based on recent years of experience and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, recent years of experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business needs, scope and level. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions as needed.
