QUALITY MANAGER

Position Summary:
- Responsible for promoting the achievement of quality and performance improvement culture and standards company wide, ensuring that managers, process owners and supervisors deliver their contribution to the quality management system.
- Accountable for accurate identification of customer product specifications and quality requirements are understood, met and, where feasible, exceeded.
- Management of the quality system, undertaking data analysis and producing statistics against which company performance is measured in relation to customer expectation.
Duties:
- Work closely with supply chain and purchasing staff to establish supplier quality requirements, assess specifications and meet customer expectations.
- Coordinate with cross functional business teams to develop the best quality strategy to meet customer requirements collaborating with Engineering, Operations and Materials departments to determine and achieve quality targets.
- Lead, manage, and develop a high performing quality assurance team, and provide functional leadership to the Production Quality Engineering personnel deployed in to the business operation.
- Establish and manage controls and control documentation by bringing together staff of different disciplines and driving the group to formulate and agree comprehensive quality procedures and in-house standards.
- Work methodically to establish a clearly defined quality management system that all staff can apply ensuring quality standards are properly understood, carried out and fit for compliance with national and international standards.
- Collate and analyse performance data against defined parameters to enable quality decisions to be made that are backed up with strong data.
- Produce technical and management system reports as required for Exec and Management meetings.
- Supervise a programme of internal auditing highlighting relevant quality related training needs, non-conformances, and agreed corrective actions.
- Work within terms of reference and budgetary constraints to ensure any materials and /or business reputation linked risks are identified, evaluated, managed and costed.
- Actively manage your own professional development, updating skills and networking with industry and sector contacts as appropriate to maintain a current understanding of industry best practices and technology trends.
- Proven experience of working as a Quality Manager at senior level in a multi-site manufacturing business.
- Demonstrable evidence of the ability to work under own initiative to achieve functional and departmental tasks whilst also liaising effectively with other management colleagues.
- Good team management experience, and a proven track record to developing a high-performance team.
- Good analytical, numerical, problem solving, planning, documentation and record keeping skills.
- Excellent time management with proven ability to consistently meet deadlines by planning workload accordingly.
- Proven oral, written, and presentational communication skills, evidencing an ability to influence stake holders and communicate confidently with external customers and senior managers.
- Educated to degree level in in a business, management or other related discipline or career qualified and able to evidence demonstrable experience.
- CQI qualification preferred.
- Competent and confident user of MS Windows and Office packages with an emphasis on Excel spreadsheet proficiency.
- Ability to manage the ambiguity associated with rapid business growth and organizational change in a fluid manufacturing business environment.
- Able to obtain security clearance in accordance with customer requirements.
