JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Quality Inspector in Pontiac, MI

Responsibilities of a Quality Inspector includes:

• Must be able to stand for the minimum of 8-hours (Intermitted breaks in between.)
• Read and understand documented work instructions, standard operating procedures, and statistical specification.
• Measure the product with specific hand tools/gauge to verify it is complaint to the design specification.
• Visually inspect product and verify that it is or is not compliant to the design specification.
• Identify statistical trend in the product performance.
• Document the results from the visual or physical measurement/inspection of that part.
• Detect any abnormalities that are in the product or processes.
• Tag and segregate acceptable product from product that has not passed inspection.
• Assist with corrective action activity.
• Support quality Engineering with process studies.
• Generate daily summary reports.
• Must be able to fill out documentation necessary for position.
• Other duties as assigned
• Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping.
• Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations.
• Read blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services.
• Measure product dimensions, examine functionality, and compare the final product to the specifications.
• Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control.
• Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records.
• Teach the production team about quality control concerns to improve product excellence.
• Supervise the production process

Job Requirements of a Quality Inspector:

• Experience with quality control techniques such as Six Sigma
• Experience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, computers, calipers, and other measuring instruments
• One to two years’ quality inspector experience

Physical demands and abilities

• Frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions product weight up to 25 pounds
• Repetitive movement of hands and arms.
• Continuous walking and standing
