QUALITY ENGINEER
MONTGOMERY, AL
SUMMARY: Serve as primary Quality Contact for customers. Chair Corrective and Preventive Action Team. Perform product quality audits on an ongoing basis.
EDUCATION & JOB EXPERIENCE: BS Engineering or related field or equivalent experience: 3 years related experience preferred
KEY DUTIES:
- Responsible for corrective action program, problem solving, root cause investigation and reporting.
- Travels to customer locations as needed.
- Conducts and reports on Quality meetings concentrating on current trends and customer problems.
- Provides continuous improvement suggestions for statistical data collection and sampling.
- Participates as a member of the Advanced Quality Planning Team (APQP) for new products.
- Responsible for Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions and day-to-day quality decisions regarding product on the floor.
- Responsible for on-going maintenance of failure mode and effects analysis after organization by Engineering.
- Responsible for ongoing function of daily product quality audits to ensure compliance with quality control practices and specifications at the equipment operator level.
- Support and assist efforts of conformance to the Quality and Environmental Management Systems, reviewing and updating as needed, while striving to continually improve stated objectives, within your area.
- Other job duties as assigned.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ability to complete an assigned task in a safe manner and in a constant state of alertness and must understand and follow all safety and quality rules and procedures. Must be able to work in a cooperative manner with craft workers, laborers, subcontractors, co-workers, supervisors, and others on the jobsite and in the office. Must be able to follow company policies and procedures.
SPECIALIZED SKILLS
Knowledge of advanced quality principles with documented core tools training. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Understanding of current Quality Systems in place. Critical decision making.
